Timed the distributor
Tried to start her up, but the battery was weak and all she did was grumble
Removed the exhaust valve gaskets due to smoke from the driver’s side
Quickly painted the edges of the hood with the ACE Hardware green (Not exactly the same color green, but good enough to cover some of the bare metal)
Sprayed and wrapped the backseat side panels (with contact cement on the edges)
Put the pieces of the distributor together
Installed the distributor, but didn’t check the timing for it
Attached the carburetor
Installed a new fuel line from the pump to the carb
Had to get a new fitting for where the line goes into the carb
Used a drill and a slotted metal rod instead of the distributor, just to get the oil flowing
Gapped and installed the Autolite 437s (at .035)
Fastened the tig wire by pushing on the back of the “staples” with pliers and hammering the prongs over with a hammer
Painted over the area underneath the battery compartment, where I had tested the green ACE Hardware paint
Poked the tig wire though the inner fenders to hold the rubber splash aprons on. (”Staples” still need to be fastened securely.)
Installed the intake manifold and gaskets
Placed the carb on the intake manifold
Installed two new water hoses on the climatizer
Installed the heater blower hose to the blower tube
Attached the oil pressure tube to the back of the engine
Tightened the U-joints
Attached the front exhaust bracket
Welded some areas on the frame that were curled when Stella was pulled onto the truck for shipping
Welded the crack in the lower control arm
Cut, flared, and bent a new gas line to the fuel pump
Put nuts and washers on the rear engine (tranny) mounts
Installed the slotted gravel guard around the torque converter
Attached the speedo cable
Tightened the linkage
Attached the breather tube
Added oil
Put on the brake return spring
Knocked some of the curled frame (from towing) back into place
Added a thin layer of cushion to the backseat interior panels
Cut out a pattern of the panels from the cloth covering
