More painting

Sanded and cleaned the 289’s water pump manifold, etc.
Removed the water pump manifold from Stella’s 232
Somewhat “degreased” the 232’s water pump manifold, etc.
Wasn’t 100% sure of the color to use, but I painted both water pump manifolds Studebaker green. I was debating on painting them black.

Painted the exhaust manifolds with Dupli-Color High Heat. The “Aluminum” color was a little more hot rod than I was expecting. They still look incredible compared to how they looked previously.
Painted the 289’s valve covers with Plasti-kote Engine Enamel “Low Gloss Black.” Will still need to clean up the inside of them, but at least [...]

Methodical preparation

Removed the valve covers from both engines
Removed the bullet nose
Sprayed more Picklex20 in the rear fenders (after sanding this time)
Tried removing the fan blades from the 232 engine
Removed the spark plug wires from the 232

Prep for a little paint

Cleaned off the exhaust manifolds with lacquer thinner
Sprayed Picklex20 on the inner side of the rear fenders (some surface rust has appeared there)

Sunvisors

Wanted to see how good Phantom Auto Works was, so I sent them my old sunvisors
Got them back today and they looked great
They look even better in the car, but sure make that headliner look rough!

Exhaust manifolds

Got the exhaust manifolds back from a friend
They were sandblasted and looked MUCH better
Will soon wipe down and paint (as soon as the weather cooperates)

Painted the [289] engine!

Finally got a warm enough day to paint.

Sprayed primer on the aluminum parts of the engine
Sprayed three medium coats of Stude International green paint all over the engine

De-rustifying the back armrests

Sanded the edges and interior of the back armrests
Wiped them both down with lacquer thinner
Sprayed with PickleX20 to stop the rust
Wiped more of the engine with lacquer thinner (ready for some warm weather painting!)

Door panel work

Removed the stainless trim pieces from both door panels
Removed the cloth from both door panels and back side panels
Traced door and back side panels onto blackboard
Removed the cloth from both back armrests
