Removed the old trunk weather seal (rubber gasket)
Installed the new trunk rubber
Tested with a water hose
Trunk leaked badly
Put the old fuel pump back on
Put rubber fuel line with inline filter back on
Lengthened the accelerator to governor linkage by 1/8″
Took a test drive and the passing gear seemed to still be there AND she didn’t try to die at complete stops while in D… Problem solved?!
Adjusted throttle to carb linkage to within distance specs
Pulled on the throttle linkage and adjusted the accelerator to governor linkage
Took a test drive and the passing gear came alive!
However, at stop signs it seemed the car was stuck in two gears and just wanted to die (In D, but not in L)
Rechecked the timing
Mark lined up perfectly after warming Stella up
Pressed on the gas and mark moved about an inch away from the mark
Took a test drive… Decided the power is there, just not shifting into a lower gear
Installed new fuel pump
Installed new fuel line from pump to carb
Installed new rubber fuel line from metal fuel line to pump
After test driving, noticed no difference in performance
