Transmission mounts again

Had to cut the length of the replacement mount’s bolt again
Got the replacement passenger side mount in
Still can’t get all the holes to line up
Got the passenger side mount out
Had to cut the length of the replacement mount’s bolt again
Got the replacement passenger side mount in
Still can’t get all the holes to line up
Got the driver side mount out
Had to cut the bolt on the new mount to shorten it to the length of the old one
Got the new mount in on the driver side but can’t get the two holes to align to put the screws back
Placed Stella on jack stands, then used the jack and a block of wood to lift the transmission at the pan
Got the transmission mounts (aka rear engine mounts) loose, but couldn’t remove them
Attached the top portion of the parking brake cable to the engine-side firewall and to the brake handle
Installed the handle and attached the cable to the front lever
Added some firewall insulation
Attached heater hose to the heater blower, going towards the fender vent door
Got the engine warm and put the car in L to check tranny [...]
Wire brushed the back seat, body side panels to loosen any surface rust
Painted two coats of Rust Bullet over most of the area
Tested the transmission… She accelerates fine, but slips under a heavy load
When you stop, she remains in the higher gear (actually can hear spinning from the tranny), then eventually falls into the lower [...]
Clamped a new hose on the climatizer blower (4″ hose diameter)
Checked the fluids
Tightened the lug nuts
Took Dad out for first spin in Stella
The heavy cough from the carburetor seemed to go away, but a new hesitation appeared (Almost like the transmission wouldn’t go into gear when coming off the line)
No leaking from the radiator neck
Transmission [...]
Got a 1-7/16″ socket for the larger axle nut (other side is 1-1/4″)
Got the rear portion of the e-brake cable shortened at Alabama Rope & Rigging (Thanks Paul) and installed it
Installed new cotter pins in the castle nuts
Got five new Uniroyal A/S 205/75/15 tires at WalMart (WW showing)
Put the tires on with new lug nuts
