Trying to finalize things

Posted by Eman on May 10th, 2009

Bought another Pertronix ignition and shortened the wires to length. Bought some hex head bolts to fasten the interior door handles. We head out Friday. The forecast calls for rain. I’m starting to feel bad… but not because of the rain.

Minor things

Plugging some holes

Posted by Eman on March 15th, 2009

Got some rubber insulating tape and wrapped the base of the steering wheel column. There were a few gaps where the rubber boot was torn as it passes through the firewall. Hopefully that will keep out some of the fumes from the engine.

Eased her down and out

Added a bit of fuel to the carb and cranked Stella up

Sill plate redux

The previous sill plates were too high and didn’t allow the doors to close
Had a sheet metalist cut them down
Reinstalled the one on the passenger side and the door closed!
Of course I had to drill new holes, but the carpet will cover most of them

Inside arm rests

Posted by Eman on August 5th, 2007

Got some hard plastic arm rests (my originals rubbery, covered with leather and cloth) out of a ‘50 Stude
Installed the driver side, but could only install the first screw in the passenger side one

Adjusted the linkage to the governor again

Posted by Eman on July 13th, 2007

Stella still dies coming to a stop, even after being warmed up
Tried adjusting the linkage to the carb and the linkage to the governor again, and still stalled at a red light
Took off both sill plates, so the doors would close

Will see if they can be bent/cut more like the originals (which fit flush to [...]
