Rock guards and more

Punched holes in the carpet, then attached the seat belts through them
Attached two splash guards… One near the high beam switch in the fender well, and the other near the starter
Attached garage door rubber to the rock guards with 17 ga. aluminum wire
Tightened most of the body bolts from the rear fenders to the body
Installed [...]

Touch-ups

Touched-up some of the nicks here and there on the paint today
Put the name scripts back on the front of the hood
Put the bullet on the front of the car

Generator install

Turned one of the pipes on the water pump housing to be perpendicular to the housing
Painted the area around it (touch-up work)
Painted the generator low gloss black
Installed the generator… Just need to figure out where the hoses go around it
Removed the fender vent doors and the old gaskets around them

More painting? Hood work

Quickly painted the edges of the hood with the ACE Hardware green (Not exactly the same color green, but good enough to cover some of the bare metal)
Sprayed and wrapped the backseat side panels (with contact cement on the edges)

Fastened the tig wire by pushing on the back of the “staples” with pliers and hammering the prongs over with a hammer
Painted over the area underneath the battery compartment, where I had tested the green ACE Hardware paint

Hood undercoating

Sprayed rubber undercoating over the underside of the hood
Scraped and painted the hood hinges with Rust-Oleum satin black

Removed some of the undercoating and flaking off paint from the underside of the hood
Wire brushed and cleaned with acetone
Painted on Rust Bullet for added protection
Painted the temperature sending unit black

Removed the painters tape from yesterday’s painting with Rust Bullet

Door channel rust preventing

Removed the old, hard rubber around the driver’s door
Cleaned the channel with acetone
Painted the channel with Rust Bullet to prevent any more surface rust… Will add the rubber there soon
Attached foil to the black board that I cut for the trunk and back seat
Painted the breather tube Low Gloss Black

Only got the distributor shaft and collar cleaned and painted today
Painted a little on the dipstick tube
Also put together a new engine stand for the 232
